The Sudbury Star is a daily newspaper published in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. It is the only daily newspaper in Sudbury and has a circulation of approximately 25,000.
The Sudbury Star began publication on October 17, 1908, as The Evening Star. It was purchased by Thomson Newspapers in 1965, and merged with the morning paper, The Sudbury Tribune, to form The Sudbury Star and Tribune. Thomson sold the paper to Southam Newspapers in 1978, and it was later acquired by CanWest Global Communications. In 2000, the paper was sold to Osprey Media.
