MEDICINE HAT, Alta. – The Medicine Hat News is a small-town Canadian English-language newspaper covering the city of Medicine Hat and the surrounding area in southeastern Alberta. It publishes six days a week, and its website features news, weather, sports, opinion, classifieds, and more.

The News was founded in 1905 by W.T. Robb and F. Scarfe as The Sun. It became The Medicine Hat News in 1911. In 2015, it was acquired by Postmedia Network.

In 2005, the News’ editor was a finalist for a National Newspaper Award for Editorial Writing. Its offices are located at 431 – 1st Street S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta.
