The Cornwall Standard-Freeholder is a daily newspaper in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. It is owned by Sun Media. The Standard-Freeholder also prints a free weekly edition which is distributed throughout the city of Cornwall. The Standard-Freeholder is the only daily newspaper in eastern Ontario to employ an accredited journalist (Geraldine Sherman).

The Standard-Freeholder's website address is standard-freeholder.com. The Standard-Freeholder is published in English. The Cornwall Standard-Freeholder was founded in 1865 as the Standard. The newspaper was renamed the Freeholder in 1892 and absorbed its competitor, the Cornwall Chronicle, in 1908. In 1915, after absorbing the Cornwall Daily News and taking over the local news service of its sister paper, the Ottawa Citizen, it acquired its current name.

In 1923 William Henry Wright bought a controlling interest in both papers; he remained a publisher until his death in 1948. His son Cyril Wright succeeded him as a publisher and became one of the most influential publishers in Canada.

The paper remained in the Wright family until it was sold to Southam Newspapers in 1972. In 1978 Southam acquired full ownership of the Standard-Freeholder when it bought controlling interest from CTV globe media. The paper was sold to Thomson Newspapers in 1991, which sold it to Osprey Media in 2000. In 2008 Osprey merged with Sun Media Corporation to form Postmedia Network.
